Privacy policy
Kennlock Construction LLC — effective September 11, 2026
This policy describes how Kennlock Construction LLC (“Kennlock”, “we”) collects and uses personal information, and in particular how our employee time-reporting text-message program works. It applies to this website and to that program.
1. Who we are
Kennlock Construction LLC is a commercial electrical company in north Georgia. Mailing address: PO Box 610, Clermont, GA 30527. You can reach us by email at ap@kennlock.com.
2. The text-message program
Who sends and who receives. Kennlock sends text messages (SMS) to its own employees, and only to its employees, from Kennlock’s program number, (678) 616-0655. No one outside Kennlock’s workforce is messaged.
Why. Once a week, Kennlock texts each employee the week as it was scheduled and asks for the hours actually worked. The employee replies with their hours — a weekly total, or day by day — and may name the job they worked on. Kennlock uses the reply to prepare payroll and to record labor against the job it was worked on. That is the program’s only purpose. It sends no marketing or promotional messages.
How often. One message on Sunday, with up to two reminders the same day to employees who have not yet replied. About one to three messages a week.
Consent — how an employee opts in. Participation is part of Kennlock’s employment relationship with its employees: reporting hours is how employees are paid. An employee opts in by replying to a text message from the owner’s own phone agreeing to report hours by text. That reply is the record of consent; the owner then enters the employee’s number in Kennlock’s scheduling and payroll system and records the date of consent at the same time. Only after that does the program’s number send anything: the program never sends a first message to a number that has not opted in this way, and Kennlock does not obtain numbers from any other source. An employee who declines is not messaged and reports their hours the way they always have — by telling the owner, who enters them. Declining does not affect being paid.
How to stop. Reply STOP to any message and Kennlock will stop texting that number. The opt-out is handled at the carrier level and recorded in Kennlock’s system. You can reply START to opt back in, and HELP for help; a HELP reply is answered with this email address and a reminder of how to stop. Stopping the messages does not change your employment or your pay; it means you report your hours to the owner directly, as before. Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile plan; Kennlock does not reimburse messaging costs.
3. What we collect
- Your name and mobile telephone number, given to Kennlock for time reporting.
- The text of your replies, verbatim, and the date and time each was received.
- The hours you report, the days they apply to, and any job or work site you name.
- Delivery information from our messaging provider (whether a message was sent and delivered, and any opt-out you send).
We do not collect your location from these messages, and we do not read or store any other messages on your phone.
4. How we use it
- To prepare Kennlock’s weekly payroll and the payroll records the law requires us to keep.
- To record labor hours against the jobs they were worked on (job costing) and to compare reported hours with Kennlock’s own records, resolving differences with you where needed.
- To reach you about your reported hours if something is unclear.
We do not use your number or your replies for marketing, and we do not sell, rent, or share them for anyone else’s marketing.
5. Who else sees it
- Kennlock’s payroll accountant. Reported hours go to the people who prepare Kennlock’s payroll, including our payroll accountant.
- Service providers that run the program for us. Messages are sent and received through Twilio, a telecommunications messaging provider, and the hours are recorded in Kennlock’s scheduling and payroll system, which is hosted by a cloud hosting provider. These providers process the information only to provide the service to Kennlock and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- When the law requires it, for example a lawful request from a government agency, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
6. How long we keep it
Payroll records, including reported hours, are retained by Kennlock and its payroll accountant for as long as the law requires and for the business’s own records. Your mobile number is kept while you are employed and while it is needed to complete payroll records, and is removed from the messaging program when you opt out or leave Kennlock.
7. Security
Kennlock’s scheduling and payroll system is reachable only over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and requires a login. Access to reported hours is limited to the people who prepare payroll. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
You can stop the text messages at any time by replying STOP. You can ask us what information we hold about you in this program, ask us to correct it, or ask us to update your number, by emailing ap@kennlock.com. Some records must be kept for the period the law requires even after a request to delete them.
9. This website
This website does not use cookies, does not run analytics, and does not have forms that collect information. Our hosting provider records ordinary server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) to keep the site running.
10. Children
The program is for Kennlock employees only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 through it.
11. Changes
If we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new effective date. Changes that affect the text-message program are also told to employees directly.
